Hey Excel® Users……Got Maps?
Much of the data you analyze and present contains information with locations – stores, states, cities, zip codes, sales territories, census blocks, customer, donor, member addresses, etc.
Mapping and ability to visualize such data used to require expensive GIS software and a specialist. Not anymore…now Excel users can put their data on a map, to visualize it, ask better questions and make faster, better decisions. Use maps to build consensus, communicate complex ideas and to enhance your report or PowerPoint Presentation.
To map your data in AWhere Express, you will generally follow one of two paths: you will either connect your tabular data to existing map features (such as a county map layer), or you may need to first geo-code your data (convert customers’ physical addresses to latitude/longitude coordinates) and then use AWhere Express to create a point map layer of those locations. If geo-coding is necessary, refer to the link below for more information.
