aWhere and Revofarm to Provide Agricultural Weather to Farmers in the Caribbean

May 27, 2015

aWhere and Revofarm officially announce their agreement to deliver daily weather forecasts and agronomic insight into the hands of smallholder and larger farmers throughout the Caribbean. Empowered by localized, real-time agronomic weather data from the Weather aWhere solution, Revofarm will deliver daily information and alerts via mobile applications to farmers, with the goal of empowering more intelligent, data-driven farming decisions throughout the region.

Revofarm will also leverage aWhere’s Weather Support application to better equip their call center representatives with the information needed to make recommendations based on the local meteorological and agronomic conditions of the caller.

“In the Caribbean our agricultural production is heavily influenced by the weather and climatic events.  On a daily basis our farmers are in need of a more accurate weather prediction and analysis system so they can make more intelligent farm decisions that will foster a more sustainable sector and lower the risk associated with agriculture, while boosting productivity and income.” said Ricardo Gowdie, Co-Founder and CEO of Revofarm.

The agreement with Revofarm, a Jamaica-based company, marks aWhere’s initial entry into the Caribbean market, and presents an exciting opportunity for aWhere to continue delivering agricultural intelligence to farmers around the globe.

“For many Caribbean farmers, access to localized, high resolution weather and agronomic insight is quite limited, making RevoFarm’s solution particularly groundbreaking for farmers and the agricultural value chain in the region,” said John Corbett Ph.D, Co-Founder and CEO of aWhere.
