aWhere attends NCAR’s Workshop on Quantitative Evaluation of Downscaled Data
Aug 04, 2013
The aWhere team will join researchers and practitioners working in the field of climate data forecasting for a week-long workshop in Boulder, Colorado focused on a quantitative evaluation of down-scaled climate data. The main objective of the workshop is to examine problems that arise from real-world application of these data and is guided by the overarching goal set by the NCPP to develop standardization for local to regional climate information.
The workshop is formed around four main themes: water resources, ecological impacts, agricultural impacts and human health impacts of weather and climate, and will include an examination of down-scaled climate datasets from both a scientific and applications perspective.
“The provision of down-scaled climate data through the aWhere platform is something we’re very keen to offer. We’re excited to participate in this workshop, and for the opportunities that may arise to make these data available to our growing community of platform users” says aWhere CEO, Dr. John Corbett.
