Wheat Ridge, Colorado - aWhere, a Software as a Service (SAAS) business focused on providing location intelligence for global development, has entered into a Master Research and Development Agreement with Colorado State University. This represents the beginning of a collaborative research relationship focused on enhancing global development.
One of the first proposed joint efforts will be to implement the aWhere weather module to deliver satellite-derived daily rainfall data for Africa. The data from this project are uniquely valuable in that they have better temporal and spatial resolution than existing sources, supporting humanitarian, tactical and strategic decision making across a multitude of challenges.
“This weather terrain data is just an example of what can be achieved through this research agreement.” says aWhere CEO Dr. John Corbett “We look forward to continuing and growing our relationship with CSU.”
Bill Farland, Vice President for Research at Colorado State says “This type of cross-disciplinary research integrates real-time weather data into a platform for tracking and predicting the spread of infectious diseases. This is an opportunity to impact how infectious diseases are tracked globally.”
