Wheat Ridge, CO (October 14, 2014) -- aWhere Inc. announced today the receipt of a $45,000 grant from the Colorado Office of Economic and International Trade (OEDIT). The funds will improve access to localized, actionable insight for farmers worldwide.
With acceleration from this grant, aWhere will launch its climate-smart recommendation system. This new product line will generate and deliver highly-localized, near real-time agronomic recommendations and alerts to farmers and extension workers around the globe. For example, the information service will identify best-fit crop variety for drought tolerance, optimal plant and harvest dates, alerts for pest outbreaks, and probable agronomic outcomes from environmental factors. Delivered through an API, information can be packaged as SMS messages or voice recordings and sent directly to the farmer for immediate action.
Dave Lundberg, COO, said, “We’re honored to have received this grant from the State of Colorado and we appreciate the tremendous efforts of Governor John Hickenlooper and the OEDIT to promote new technologies. These funds will support aWhere’s acceleration into an important new global market.”
This will be a significant expansion to the existing aWhere Platform, and is already in demand by global development organizations, national governments, commercial agricultural companies, and U.S. state extension services.
