Mosquito Abatement Decision Information System
Designed for U.S. mosquito and vector control districts, MADIS is a solution-as-a-service platform providing predictive mosquito control insight from the spatial modeling of advanced satellite surveillance, mosquito entomology, and local operations data. MADIS will identify and prioritize a mosquito control district’s habitat sites.
- Abandoned pools
- Rice fields
- Drainage ditches
- Holding ponds
- Marshes
- Irrigation
- Flood areas

It has simply not been possible to identify and monitor all the potential mosquito habitat locations across a district. Foreclosed properties, weather conditions, land-use changes, and agricultural practices mean a constantly changing inventory of habitats. By identifying and classifying habitat locations with satellite surveillance, then integrating that data with the district’s own surveillance, control, and service request data, the MADIS solution enables rapid monitoring and evaluation of critical areas to optimize operations management.
- Impact more area within the district
- Increase operations efficacy
- Increase public support
- Improve vector response
The solution-as-a-service platform and data integration services mean there is no new hardware or software to implement. The web-based applications and the MADIS technology platform enable secure integration of district data and the ability to export MADIS data back into existing district operations systems.
